Tips for Travel Volunteering in India

Packing

Packing for your volunteering tour? If you take my advice, pack some decent and modest clothes. As you’ll be in contact with the local people on a daily basis, it is best advised to wear clothes that cover your whole body. If you’re traveling in the month of December to February, then you’ll need to pack some warm clothes as the temperature during this time is around 10-25 degrees celsius.

Clothing

You’ll also need to wear decent clothes covering your knees and shoulders while traveling here. Make sure to carry a scarf or jacket in certain religious places as you cannot enter these places without a handkerchief or scarf coving your head. You might experience a lack of electricity in certain areas. But still, try carrying your own battery backups while traveling.

Food

Group tours in India can be so much fun. Everyone can exchange ideas and help each other out. Do not take “Delhi Belly” as a joke. You can satisfy all your food cravings with so many options but don’t forget to carry your diarrhea medicine as a precaution. Oh! And the most important thing. Don’t you dare forget to wear your masks and carry your sanitizers while traveling!

Women Safety

Travel in India is quite safe for women. But, on a safer note, it is preferable to wear modest clothes and being cautious. Also, while touring with Novoto, you will be surrounded by groups that will ensure your safety and accompany you to all the crowded and unknown places. Women don’t need to worry about their well-being and safety while traveling in India.
